REGISTRATION BEGINS:
Re-enrollment (Prek - 8th grades) on April 7, 2008.
New/Open Enrollment begins - April 10, 2008.

Admissions:

Holy Rosary School welcomes students and families from many different cultural and social backgrounds. To apply for admission or request information, please contact the school office to make an appointment to meet with the principal.


Kindergarten students take a benchmark exam (benchmark guide shown below) and new students in grades 1-8 must take an exam before they start attending Holy Rosary School to assess their learning needs within the classroom.

Kindergarten Benchmark Exam Information:


Kindergarten students in class

Students should be able to:

 

1. Separate from parents with reasonable assistance.

2. Accept responsibility for their behavior.

a. Take care of own belongings.

b. Respect school supplies and those of others.

3. Listen, without interrupting, to a story for 10 minutes.

4. Follow a set of behavior guidelines (class rules).

5. Sing the A-B-C song.

6. Identify letters in their first name.

7. Print first name legibly and hold the pencil correctly.

8. Draw self picture (in developmentally appropriate detail).

9. Cut on a straight line, correctly holding the scissors.

10. Color a simple picture.

11. Identify basic colors and shapes.

12. Understand the meaning of basic prepositions: above, below, on top of, behind, beside, in front of.

13. Count objects to 10.

14. Recognize the main body parts of face, arms, legs, hands, and feet.

15. Take turns with reasonable assistance.
