Welcome!

Holy Rosary School is dedicated to educating the whole child. Our aim is to promote the religious, academic, cultural, social, psychological, moral, and physical growth of each individual student in a loving, supportive environment. We recognize parents as the primary educators of their children. Our success as educators depends upon active parental support and cooperation. We impart the Gospel values of compassion, peace, justice, and service to God and community, as well as the value and traditions of the Catholic Church.

We welcome you to our school. If you have not had the opportunity yet, we invite you to come and visit the classrooms, look at the curriculum and most of all, observe as our students learn all the academic subjects in a clean, safe, faith filled environment from dedicated, professional teachers and staff members. Please call ahead and make arrangements to meet with our Principal, Marianne Cates.

History

Holy Rosary School has a long and rich history, dating back to 1886, when nine Holy Cross Sisters came to Woodland from Notre Dame, Indiana, to begin a boarding school for girls. That school was known as the Holy Rosary Academy. In 1920, the Academy was awarded full accreditation by the University of California. For more than a decade, the teaching staff of Holy Rosary School has been a dedicated, all lay teaching staff. As an integral part of Holy Rosary Parish, our school participates in the teaching mission of Jesus Christ under the guidance and direction of the Diocese of Sacramento and Holy Rosary Parish. We are proud of the accomplishments of both our students and our faculty. We welcome you to Holy Rosary Parish School.
